Finding solutions for problems is Maano’s forte

Some people take many years to decide which career path to follow, but this was not the case for Maano Sigwavhulimu.

POLOKWANE – Sigwavhulimu, who is the Director of Sigwavhulimu Maano Attorneys in the Thabokgolo Building on Landdros Maré Street, he holds a LLB degree from the University of Venda. He also holds a qualification in practical training and is currently studying towards a conveyancing and notary qualifiaction at the School for Legal Practice.

He began practicing law in November 2019 and represents civil matters and criminal cases in court. “I represent my clients in a professional manner and in the best way possible because I don’t focus on the problem, but rather on the solution,” he said.

A typical day for Sigwavhulimu consists of consultations with clients and then representing them in court. He adds that he was interested in marketing and banking before, but helping people who find themselves on the wrong side of the law is what motivated him to become a lawyer.

“I always wanted to follow a career path that allowed me to speak and interact with people. I am inspired by the opportunities that we as young men, and black men in particular, have been given to become anything we want to. I am motivated by the desire to impact the lives of young men positively and act as a living example to everyone. I really love helping people with their legal matters and seeing them happy,” he told BONUS.

Sigwavhulimu says he had to stay focused, regardless of how negative people were towards his dream. “You are constantly told that law is one of the hardest professions to get into and one of the key challenges was proving to myself that I was capable of seeing it through,” he said. The biggest highlight of his career thus far was opening his own practice and having to manage his own business, time and creating a name for himself in the process.
