3 pass away as shack catches fire in Limpopo village
According to a statement by Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo, the police in Mankweng have opened an inquest following the incident.
LIMPOPO – Three people from Ga-Mamabolo, Moshate New Stands passed away after their shack caught fire on Sunday, 12 April.
The deceased have been identified as Loggy Nkoana (61) and her granddaughters Lerato (10) and Hellen Nkoana (6).
According to a statement by Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo, the police in Mankweng have opened an inquest following the incident.
“The deceased were sleeping in their shack when it reportedly caught fire at around 22:45. The police and emergency personnel were summoned to the scene and found that the shack was completely gutted with the three bodies inside,” the statement reads.
Mojapelo added that the cause of the fire is unknown at this stage and that police investigations are continuing.
