#WFD – Creamy Pasta Salad with Blue Cheese and Bacon

Toss cooked penne pasta together with bacon and blue cheese sauce mixture

POLOKWANE – The indulgent flavour of blue cheese makes this dish a gourmets delight topped with tomato, says What’s for Dinner.

Serve it in individual portions as a starter or on a large platter when entertaining.

Ingredients

  1. 1 clove garlic, crushed
  2. 125g streaky bacon, diced
  3. 125g cherry tomatoes, halved
  4. 1 cup basil leaves
  5. 1 clove garlic, crushed
  6. 10ml olive oil
  7. 55g blue cheese, crumbled
  8. 30ml lowfat mayonnaise
  9. 1 x KNORR Classic White Sauce
  10. 250g penne pasta, uncooked

Method

  1. Boil penne pasta until al dente then drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan and fry garlic and bacon until the bacon is crispy.
  3. Prepare KNORR Classic White Sauce as per sachet instructions then combine with crumbled blue cheese and mayonnaise and season (to taste) with salt and black pepper.
  4. Toss cooked penne pasta together with bacon and blue cheese sauce mixture then add the cherry tomatoes and basil and combine well.
  5. Place in a serving dish and serve immediately.
