Visiting hours temporarily suspended at provincial hospitals
Hospitals should supply families with the contact details for the ward their members are admitted in
LIMPOPO – The Limpopo Department of Health has temporarily suspended visiting hours at all provincial hospitals.
According to a statement signed by Head of the Department, Dr Thokozani Mhlongo the department noted that hospitals were crowded despite the limitation to one visit per patient for one hour a day.

“The visitors pose the risk of spreading Covid-19 to the already vulnerable patients. Due to this, the department suspends all hospital visits until further notice,” the statement reads.
The suspension is implemented with immediate effect, the statement adds that hospitals should supply families with the contact details of the relevant ward their family members are admitted to, this will enable families to telephonically enquire about their loved ones.
“Families will be contacted by the hospitals as and when it is required,” the statement concludes.
