MOKOPANE – During a visit to buy purified water, Bosveld noticed that the staff at Waterworld in Van Riebeeck Street are greeting shoppers with a self-made mask, that is made with disposable cloths and elastic as well as a bottle of hand sanitiser.
Each customer that entered without a mask received one from the staff, urging them to wear it. After shopping was done, residents could keep the mask.
Customers are also not allowed beyond a certain point whereby staff members are serving clients with the water refilling process. This ensures that the purified water areas are kept clean, disinfected and clear of any possible infection.Julie and William Read, owners of the store, said it is a priority to ensure that their employees are protected while expressing the importance of following the rules.
Residents are urged to only leave their homes to buy essential products and to also ensure that they take the necessary precautions when doing so.
Always plan the shortest route to the nearest supermarket and adhere to the measurements that the store has put into place. Never ignore the safe socidal distance as prescribed, even when waiting in a queue, is their advice to shoppers.
