Police have registered an inquest docket after the remains of a 31-year-old fisherman was recovered from the crocodile-infested Levubu River yesterday (Wednesday).
Provincial Police Communications Head Motlafela Mojapelo indicated that the man, identified as Nephawe Rabelani, was allegedly attacked by a crocodile on Monday at about 18:00 while fishing in the area.
Mojapelo said the man was fishing with a group of people when he was allegedly noticed being grabbed and dragged into the water by a crocodile.
The Police were notified and the Search and Rescue Unit was immediately activated. The search was only concluded yesterday (Wednesday) after the body was found.
