#WFD – Garlic Mashed Potatoes

You can serve this dish with a side of perfectly seasoned oven roasted Mediterranean vegetables

POLOKWANE – This week, Review’s What’s for Dinner recipes are all about Christmas cheer and giving you ideas on what to make for Christmas lunch with the family.

Mashed potatoes are a treat with any meal and the smoother and fluffier they are, the better.

What’s for Dinner says garlic mashed potatoes are the perfect accompaniment to roast dinners. This smooth, buttery mash is made great by mixing with garlic, black pepper and Knorr Vegetable Stock Pot. A great side dish that bursts with flavour.

Ingredients

  1. 1.5kg floury potatoes, peeled and chopped
  2. 6 cloves garlic, crushed
  3. 500ml low fat milk
  4. 1 x KNORR Vegetable Stock Pot
  5. 50g stork margarine
  6. 10ml Robertsons Coarse Black Pepper

Method

  1. Cover the potatoes with water in a large pot. Bring to the boil and then simmer for 15 minutes on medium heat, until potatoes are tender. Drain well. Return potatoes to the pot and leave to stand.
  2. Meanwhile, heat the milk gently on low heat in a small saucepan. Add the Knorr Vegetable Stock Pot and garlic and stir until pot has melted.
  3. Mash the potatoes until very smooth, without lumps.
  4. Add the milk, Stork Margarine and Robertsons Course Black Pepper and mash really well.
