After being in contact with Netball SA President Cecilia Molokwane who had tested positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19) last week, two MECs Polly Boshielo for Education and Thandi Moraka for Sport, Arts and Culture have tested negative for the virus.
This is according to information issued by Premier Stan Mathabatha spokesperson Kenny Mathivha. He highlighted in a statement that the provincial government has welcomed the negative Covid-19 results of the two MECs.

Sport, Arts and Culture MEC Thandi Moraka.

He reiterated that Boshielo and Moraka had initially came into contact with a prominent sport personality who tested positive for the virus after she had traveled overseas.
Mathivha further explained that Health MEC Phophi Ramathuba and her team have since screened and tested all those who came into close contact with the sport personality and the provincial government was delighted to announce that all of them tested negative.
Mathabatha was quoted to have said “We are excited that the results came back negative of the Covid-19 virus and the two MECs will remain in self-quarantine until 14 days as part of health protocols. The lockdown regulations have empowered the Department of Health to trace and arrest anyone who may have tested positive but refuse to be quarantined. The law also empowers for an arrest and force testing for anyone who may be suspected to have come into contact with persons suspected of having the Covid-19 virus.”
Mathabatha concluded by urging Limpopo residents to stay indoors, wash their hands with soap and water, to sanitize were possible, but at most to avoid any close contact with people, and to report any case with health officials.
