A 52-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court today (Monday) after he was arrested yesterday (Sunday) following an alleged burglary at a home earlier the day.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe indicated that unknown suspects broke into a house in Tzaneen while the occupants were asleep.
When the occupants realised they had been robbed they informed the Police who immediately responded and started following up on all possible leads. Investigations led them to a certain spot in the town where they managed to arrest the suspect, according to Ngoepe.
He added that a bolt cutter, 24 different types of cellphones, three tablets and a laptop were recovered during the arrest.
Ngoepe further indicated that preliminary investigations already linked the suspect to 12 burglaries committed between January and March in the Tzaneen area.
