In an attempt to ensure a safe working environment in support of containing further spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), the Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (Ledet) has reportedly adopted temporary measures aimed at prioritising the health and safety of employees and Limpopo residents.
According to departmental Spokesperson Zaid Kalla, measures that were implemented include internal human resources processes recognising and installing immediate support measures to employees experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms. He said the department has suspended permit processing activities, tourist guide services and face-to-face tour guide and departmental sporting activities.
Kalla highlighted that employees and visitors have to utilise availed hands sanitizers while site employees are all requested to use protective gear at all times. He added that the department has communicated with both its employees as well as parastatals to accommodate and adhere to the temporary safety measures for their benefit as well as the well-being Limpopo residents.
