POLOKWANE – Monica Machaka is a creative soul who loves thinking outside of the box, and pays attention to detail, which she channels into her personal shopping, gifting and decor set-up company, Mo Fashion Exchange.
The business is growing thanks to her unique and aesthetically pleasing gifts which she sets up for her clients, as she says people are in need of gifts all the time, regardless of the occasion or holiday.
“Gifts are important because they leave our loved ones with memories that will last forever and puts a smile on their faces. I believe my business is unique because I was able to collaborate my services together and not just focus on one service. Most people are not aware that in order to make an event or occasion successful, you need to have the correct deco and a memorable gift that complements the occasion,” she said.
Monica specialises in personalised, custom gifting which is based on the client’s budget. “I creatively bring the gift to life by using boxes with personalised messages on them, roses or picnic baskets,” she said.
The name, Mo Fashion Exchange was inspired by Monica’s love for fashion and finer things in life and ‘Mo’ originates from her name. She hosts lifestyle picnics in which she takes clients to various tourism attractions in the province and also caters for any occasion, including get-togethers, birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers and bridal showers.
“I love making people happy and helping them tell their love story through gifts and picnics. My dream was to own a fashion studio but all that will happen in time,” she said. “I make sure I collaborate with local brands such as Kay Wine and Latteria Delish Cheese.
