Police are investigating three cases of murder after the discovery of the remains of three charred bodies and a torched vehicle in the bush at Naganeng village outside Dennilton on Monday.
Provincial Police Communications Head Motlafela Mojapelo indicated that a passer-by informed the Police who immediately responded along with emergency medical personnel.
Upon their arrival they discovered the bodies of three men aged between 20 and 31 burnt beyond recognition and a burnt-out Hyundai bakkie.
It is suspected that the deceased had been severely assaulted before they were set alight as there were several stones found on the scene.
The deceased were identified as Owen Ncube (31), Salos Sithole (23) and Lovemore Basera (20).
The motive behind the killing is still being investigated but mob justice cannot be ruled out, Mojapelo indicated.
Provincial Police Commissioner Nneke Ledwaba has strongly condemned the incident and instructed the Police to hunt down the killers and bring them to book.
Anyone with information is requested to contact investigating officer Michael Seopela on 066 269 8337 or report to the nearest Police station.
