Limpopo police search for 2 missing people in Giyani

In two separate incidents, the South African Police Service in Giyani have launched searched operations for a 38-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl.

LIMPOPO – The man originally from KwaNongoma in KwaZulu-Natal, Sakile Mthombheni left his work place on Friday, 13 March according to a statement by Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

Ngoepe said that Mthombheni went to visit his partner at Magone village in the Malamulele policing area. “He reportedly contacted his partner later on the same day at about 16:45, informing her that he was travelling along Gravelotte and Phalaborwa and was being blocked by two vehicles without registration numbers,” the statement reads.

His partner tried to call him on Saturday, 14 March but a stranger answered and told her that the victim’s cellphone is in Kempton Park, Gauteng.

It is unsure what type of clothes he was last seen wearing and anyone with information about the whereabouts of Mthombheni, may contact Capt Makhubela at 082 729 0327, the Crime stop number at 086 001 0111 or their nearest police station.

In another incident in Dengeza outside Giyani, Tiyiselani Nokuthula Rikhotso (11) disappeared on Sunday, 15 March after she left home and never came back.

According to Ngoepe’s statement, she was last wearing a pink T-shirt and a grey skirt and has dreadlocks.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the missing girl may contact Det WO Mangayi at 082 729 0351, the Crime stop number at 086 001 0111 or their nearest police station.

Police are conducting search operation in various areas but there has been no success thus far.
