POLOKWANE – The R101 road between Polokwane and Mokopane is currently closed for security reasons.

The Department of Transport urges motorists to use the N1 road when entering or leaving Polokwane on the south side of the city.

POLOKWANE – The R101 road between Polokwane and Mokopane is now open.

According to Joel Seabi, Spokesperson for the MEC of Transport and Community Safety, the R101 road which was closed for the better part of Thursday, 12 March has been reopened to traffic.

POLOKWANE – Review can confirm that the R101 road between Mokopane and Polokwane has been blockaded by police. This is reportedly due to preparations taking place at The Ranch Resort ahead of the arrival of an estimated 122 patients from Wuhan and not protest action as earlier reported.

The road has been blocked between the Shell garage on the R101 outside Polokwane and the R101 offramp outside Mokopane. It is not yet know how long the road will be closed. We will keep you updated.

POLOKWANE – The R101 road between Mokopane and Polokwane has been reportedly blocked due to strike action at The Ranch Resort.

This protest action comes in the midst of news that the National Department of Health identified the resort as the quarantine proximity point where an estimated 122 South African citizens, to be evacuated from Covid-19 ridden Wuhan, will be housed for 21 days. The ANCYL, Peter Mokaba branch yesterday vowed to close the facility should these plans continue.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use an alternative route where possible.
