POLOKWANE – After the news broke that The Ranch Resort outside Polokwane was identified as a Coronavirus (Covid-19) quarantine proximity point for an estimated 122 citizens that will be evacuated from Wuhan later this week, residents from the province took to Twitter to voice their concerns with #LimpopoIsNotADumpingSite.
The initial quarantine point was to be in the Free State and many have voiced their dissatisfaction with the National Department of Health who they believe are using the province as a ‘dump ground for coronavirus’.

It is currently estimated that 122 South African residents will be landing at OR Tambo International Airport on Friday, 13 March. In a earlier media statement resident, Cyril Ramaphosa stated that none of these citizens have tested positive for COVID-19, or showed symptoms.
To date South Africa has 17 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and the Chief of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the coronavirus outbreak can now be categorised as a pandemic.
