Mankweng intern’s murder case postponed to end of March

He appeared on a charge of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances

LIMPOPO – The case against a 25-year-old man accused of the murder of Shongile Pretty Nkwashu was postponed to the end of March.

The accused and boyfriend of the deceased, appeared in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 28 February and was remanded in custody until 31 March for a formal bail application.

He faces charges of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.


LIMPOPO- A 25-year-old man charged with the murder of Shongile Pretty Nkwashu made his second court appearance today (Friday, 31 January) and his case was postponed to 28 February for further investigation.

The accused and boyfriend of the deceased medical intern from Mankweng Hospital appeared in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.

The body of 24-year-old Nkwashu was discovered in her flat at the doctor’s residence on 19 January after hospital management was alerted to a bad smell coming from her room. Closer inspection led to the gruesome discovery.

The accused from Dzumeri in Giyani was arrested soon after and appeared for the first time on 22 January were he was remanded in custody until today.
