Mailula says ‘cheese’ to business opportunity

Mahlatse Mailula says Latteria Delish is about helping others along the way

POLOKWANE – “My business is not only about making money but it was established to empower young people to start their own businesses when they struggle to find jobs.”

For Mahlatse Mailula, proud owner of Latteria Delish, business is about helping others along the way.

The 29-year-old from Seshego zone 3 manufactures hard and soft cheeses which include Colby, Wensleydale with cranberries, Mozzarella, halloumi, cheese spreads and cotija, says the inspiration for starting her business came from research and reading.

“I began my research after I left university because I studied a course that I was not passionate about.

“I decided that I could not sit around and do nothing, so I began to read books about how to develop my own business.” Mahlatse says she wanted to pursue a business in dairy manufacturing and she started her business in September 2019.

“I bought the necessary equipment as well as a book on the various types of cheese that can be found.” Mahlatse’s main target markets are catering companies, restaurants, hotels, lodges and households.

“I would like Latteria Delish to be fully established in the next few years so that I can employ people and conduct workshops on the process of cheese- making,” she told BONUS. Customers can find her products at 63rd Street, Seshego zone 3 and she can be contacted at 063 646 3037 or on Twitter (@latteria_Del).
