Another rape charge added against Limpopo man accused of the rape of 5 minors
A sixth rape victim was discovered in a local hospital near Thohyandou
LIMPOPO – An additional rape charge was added to the charges against a 43-year-old man who is alleged have have gone on a raping spree, targeting minors at Tswinga Gotha village.
This after the police discovered a sixth victim of rape at a local hospital on Tuesday, 25 February.
“The police received information that a sixth rape victim ,aged 7, was hospitalised on Sunday, 23 February following a rape incident that was reportedly committed by the accused,” said Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo.
Preliminary police investigations revealed that the mother of the latest victim noticed something was not right with her child and took her to the hospital, where it was confirmed that she had been raped. The child was immediately hospitalised.
The accused who was arrested and charged with the rape of five minors, aged between 4 and 10, appeared in Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 24 February. He faced five counts of rape of minors and was remanded in custody until 29 June.
A sixth count of rape has now been added to his charges, Mojapelo concluded.

LIMPOPO – The police had to rescue a 43-year-old man accused of raping five children from the hands of angry residents on Sunday, 23Â February.
It is alleged the man had raped five minors, aged, 4 7, 8, 9 and 10, at his house in Tswinga Gotha village near Thohoyandou. The community learnt about these acts and traced and caught the accused. He was assaulted before the police managed to rescue him, says Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo.

Two of the victims, aged 8 and 10, are from the same family and the other three victims, aged 4, 7 and 9 are from different families in the community.

The accused will appear in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court today, Monday, 24 February, on five counts of rape.
