King and queen fresh cut now at Unilim

Lawrence Makhubele, the founder of Kings and Queens Barber Shop decided to take the services closer to his clients

POLOKWANE – University of Limpopo students and Mankweng residents got to experience the work of Lawrence Makhubele, the founder of Kings and Queens Barber Shop.

He held a pre-launch of his Turfloop branch on Sunday, 9 February at Turfloop zone 1.

The 26-year-old barber from Elim says he decided to branch out to Turfloop as he has a lot of customers who are from the University of Limpopo. Instead of them travelling to Polokwane for his services, he decided to take the services closer to his clients.

“Students at the university always travel to cut and design their hair at our barbershop and this symbolises that they do not have a quality barbershop close to them, hence we decided to branch out,” he said.

The opening and launch of their Turfloop branch took place on Friday, 14 February.

“This was to show the kind of work they can expect once we are officially open and although we struggled with loadshedding, everything went as planned and we managed to cut more than 40 customers’ hair,” he added.

The Turfloop branch will not just be a barber shop but also a chill place for those coming to get their hair cut.

“People will get to experience fun times, good music, amazing food and free WiFi to all our customers.”

Kings and Queens Barbershop is situated at Mankweng Turfloop zone 1, next to the University of Limpopo Gate 2.
