All eyes will be on Polokwane when the South African Defence Force hosts the annual Armed Forces Day in the city from tomorrow (Friday) until next Friday when President Cyril Ramaphosa will officiate at a parade to be presented in Suid Street.
Armed Forces Day was proclaimed as such in 2012 and will this year include a static display of military equipment and arena events at the Polokwane Cricket Club from tomorrow until next Wednesday, a fun run/walk at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday as well as a military music concert at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sport Stadium in Seshego on Monday.
Rehearsals for the grand parade in Suid Street on Friday will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday and may result in road closures.
Entry to all events is free and live streaming of the events on Monday and Friday will be available to allow members of the public to view the proceedings.
In an invitation to the event, the SANDF indicated that excessive noise may be experienced during the rehearsals and the parade.
