Polokwane residents say what they would want to hear at SONA

President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to deliver the State of Nation Address in Parliament tonight and everyone wants him to focus on certain issues.

POLOKWANE – Some people want him to focus on crime, land expropriation without compensation and SAA while others want him to focus on Eskom and unemployment.
Review spoke to some residents to find out what they would like him to focus on and most of them said they would like answers on the high unemployment rate.

Frank Monyama – “The companies are retrenching and the president is not doing anything about it, tonight he must come up with strategies of how he will secure jobs this year since we do not want this high unemployment rate to go higher.”
Maria Bopape – “I have created myself an employment by selling snacks for learners and the police are disturbing us by demanding permits that we do not have. In his SONA delivery he must tell us how he will protect us since this is our way of feeding our families.”
Evony Selomo – “I am expecting the president to talk about how he will give street hawkers free permits to sell on the streets so that we can continue selling without a disturbance from the police, because he failed to create jobs that he promised in his first SONA.”
Benny Chokwe – “Since I am not working, I wish the president can come up with new ideas of how he is going to deal with the issue of unemployment rather than repeating what he said last because his plan did not work.”
