Limpopo man slits throat of 12-year-old brother

The man handed himself over to the police shortly after the incident

LIMPOPO – A 21-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, 12 February after he killed his younger sibling.

The incident happened at their residence in gaMatlou village outside Mokopane at around 17:00.

According to a statement issued by Const Mantutule Masibe from the Mahwelereng Police Station, the accused attacked his 12-year-old brother during an altercation over a house key and then used a knife to slit the boy’s throat. The police were summoned to the scene and on arrival found the body of the child covered in blood. The accused handed himself over to the police.

The deceased has been identified as Amos Molekane, a Gr 7 learner at Sebiloane Primary School.

Const Mantutule Masibe from the Mahwelereng Police Station says the accused will appear in the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 14 February on a charge of murder.
