Body of farmer and former teacher found alongside road in Limpopo

Preliminary police investigations indicate that the deceased left his home early the morning to patrol his farm and also to look for cattle.

LIMPOPO – The police are investigating a case of murder and carjacking following the discovery of the body of a 63-year-old man on Thursday morning.

The body of Soyaphi Thomas Nkuna was discovered alongside the R529 road next to Maphata Village.

According to Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo, preliminary police investigations indicate that Nkiuna left his home, in his vehicle at about 02:00 to patrol his farm and also to look for cattle. At around 06:00 the police were notified about the discovery of a body and arrived on the scene to find the body of the deceased. He had sustained gunshot and stab wounds.

Nkuna from Mageva Village in the Dzumeri area was a farmer and a former teacher at Kheto N’umalo high school in Giyani CBD.

A grey Nissan Hardbody with registration numbers BDM 086 L, which belongs to the deceased is still missing and the police appeal to anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the person (s) responsible or can assist in their investigation to contact Lt Col Makhubela at 0827290327 or the Crime stop number at 0860010111.
