‘Cutjolicious’ dreams to inspire, help and uplift young South Africans

Khutso 'Cutjolicious' Chuene established his own recording label and has been a radio presenter and news anchor at several community and national radio stations.

POLOKWANE – Radio producer and musician, Khutso ‘Cutjolicious’ Chuene is a talented individual born and bred in Ga-Makata in Ga-Molepo. Khutso grew up and mushroomed his talent across the continent with his unique sounds.

He developed his passion for music in 2009 after he started as a radio presenter and news anchor at several community and national radio stations.

“I got my music influence from one of my musician friends, King Monada, who motivated and inspired me by what he does. He is successful now and comes from Limpopo as well. He makes me proud and I therefore look up to him,” he said.

After a few months of practice, Khutso then made moves into the music industry and started getting himself some gigs. He was appointed to be a resident DJ at some local club a year later and has played at several government and private events in the country.

“I worked on radio and started meeting big names in the music industry, with a few connections. I was then introduced to the some records and managers,” he said.

Khutso used his music and radio productions to lead and manage some of the up-and-coming artists in Limpopo such as Mexican Boys, Master KG, Janisto and CK.

“This experience made me manage to mingle and build relationships with SA’s big and well-known artists such as DJ Tira, Dr Malinga, Ricky Rick and Dr Moruti.

“I was also given chances to perform at some of SA’s big and trending events such as the Tembisa Music Festival, Polokwane Beer Festival and provincial 16 June events. I have shared the stage with the artists such as Sjava, DJ Malwela, Kenny Kunene and Dr Malinga.

Khutso’s songs have already played on Metro FM, Thobela FM and other provincial community radio stations. The music video currently sits on 2 000 views on YouTube.

“One of my other talents includes acting performing and producing and I was recently cast in the music video, Go Monate Kae.”

He played the character DJ Tronix, who is the son of a minister, in the international series, The List. Khutso has established his own recording label and his dream and goal is to inspire, help and uplift young South Africans.
