Judy (18) humbled to wear Miss Venda crown

She says the pageant has boosted her self-confidence and taught her leadership skills

LIMPOPO – The 18-year-old Judy Muravha was recently crowned Miss Venda Niani at an event held at De Gebs Park.

She told CV that the crown came as a surprise to her.

“I still don’t believe that I am the winner because the competition was tough. I’m very excited to win my first pageant. I feel so honoured and humbled,” she said.

Muravha, who hails from Matshena village said the pageant enabled her to realise her potential.

“It has boosted my self-confidence, taught me communication and leadership skills,” she added. She is currently studying mechanical engineering at Musina TVET College.

During the event, Mutondi Linda Nethononda was chosen as first princess with Vhanzhi Ramukumba second, and Annoiting Mahafha as Miss Public Choice.

The founder of the pageant, Sedzani Mudau, said the pageant offers young women a platform to help bring a change towards socio-economic issues in order to create a better community living space and lifestyle.

“Our aim is to motivate and inspire young women to focus and believe in themselves to pursue their dreams, boost their confidence, and empower them to embrace their uniqueness and youth fearlessly through helping them face challenges with pride and face social life effectively, encouraging them to become a better version of themselves,” she said.

The pageant was sponsored by Arise and Shine Foundation, KDS, Rio Authentic Wear, GardenBoy, Phophie Lifestyle and Boutique, I-Model and Manngwe Foundation.
