This ‘out of this world’ ride is Saeed’s pride and joy

It's not everyday that you get to see the wonder of the galaxy, but if you're a motorist around Polokwane, you're sure to have seen Saeed Valjie's 'Miss Universe' zoom past you.

POLOKWANE – Saeed, who is the owner of Mighty Scrapyard, is the proud owner of an out of this world, custom-made, purple wrapped BMW 135i and says he can never drive a normal vehicle because he wants to be different.

Having his father to thank for his passion for cars, Saeed started off driving a Honda Civic V-Tech and says he enjoys modifying them to stand out.

“I bought my BMW 135i in 2013 as a brand-new, stock standard car and every year, I’ve changed the wrap around it. It was camouflaged, then in the M-colours and now it has the galaxy wrap. The idea came to me after an evening out under the starry sky with my friends,” he told BONUS.

Apart from ‘pimping’ out his ride, Saeed also loves racing and says he would go to the race track with his father.

“Even though my car was too slow, I had to upgrade it and make the car faster. In the past two years, I’ve been working on modifying the engine. It has an upgraded turbo, inter-cooler, down pipes software, fuel pipes among others. My Miss Universe was a 235 kW standard from BMW and now it runs at more than 400 kW.”

The modifications on Saeed’s car have cost him roughly R200 000 but the smile on his face when he sees his car in the garage in the morning is worth it.

“For me, it’s not really about the money I’ve spent on my cars, but rather, how it makes me feel.”

Saeed’s dream is to one day own a Lamborghini Aventador S or a McLaren Senna. “My love for cars won’t change according to the car I drive,” he concluded.
