#WFD – Chicken Stew

You can serve this delicious dish with either sadza or rice.

POLOKWANE – Not only are stews a classic dish but it can also be nutritious and delicious.

Ingredients

  1. 15ml cooking oil
  2. 1 ½ onions, chopped
  3. 30ml Rajah Medium Curry Powder
  4. 10ml Robertsons Chicken Spice
  5. 1 tomato, chopped
  6. 2 carrots, chopped
  7. 500g mixed chicken pieces
  8. 2 potatoes, peeled and chopped
  9. 1 Knorrox Chicken Stock Cube
  10. 500ml water
  11. 30ml KNORR Brown Onion Soup

Method

  1. In a pot, brown the onion in oil until soft
  2. Add the Rajah Medium Curry Powder, Robertsons Chicken Spice and tomatoes
  3. Fry for about two minutes
  4. Add the chicken pieces and fry until well browned
  5. Add the carrots, potato, water and Knorrox Chicken Stock Cube, stir well and allow them to simmer for 30 minutes with the lid on, stirring occasionally
  6. Just before serving, mix the Knorr Brown Onion Soup with 4 tablespoons of water to make a smooth paste and add it to the pot
  7. Allow to simmer for a further 5 minutes to thicken
  8. Serve with sadza or rice
