Two Polokwane learners found stabbed, hospitalised

POLOKWANE –  Two learners from Noorderland High School are in hospital after a stabbing incident.

According to reports the two Gr 9 learners, aged 13 and 14, were stabbed in the Welgelegen area on Friday, 17 January.

Police Spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo says the police received a complaint of assault at around 18:30 in the vicinity of Genl Maritz Street in Welgelegen. On arrival at the scene the officers found two victims already being treated by emergency personnel.

Both were taken to a hospital for medical treatment and are in a stable condition.

The circumstances that led to the incident are still not clear at this stage and no arrests have been made, Mojapleo adds.

A case of assault grievous bodily harm (GBH) has been opened. Police investigations continue.
