‘We did not know there were so much kindness left in the world’ – Spies family

[LISTEN] Erhard and Bernice Spies thank donors for helping them through their 'darkest hour'.

POLOKWANE – With the ashes of what used to be the family home of Erhard and Bernice Spies in Plein Street scarcely cold, the community pitched in and donated food, clothes, furniture and other household articles to tide over the family during their darkest hour.
The couple‘s house burnt down on 2 January. Erhard and Bernice were in Tzaneen, as his daughter who lives there wanted to treat him with a party for his 52nd birthday, when they were confronted with the sad news.
Listen to Bernice’s heartfelt “thank you” to the individuals and businesses that pitched in to assist the family, as the family do not have insurance.

She states that she cannot even name all the people and businesses, as, except for family members and friends, she does not know them. “I did not know there were so much kindness left in the world, all the support we received was amazing. I do not have enough words, but we really, really appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.”
