Smooth the belly with this smoothie

Weight-loss is often on top of most people's to-do-list following a festive season of indulging in food, alcohol and limited exercise. Dietician Kulani Mtileni thought of a clever way to keep one healthy and make you lose the unwanted fats, while enjoying a delicious homemade smoothie.

POLOKWANE – “There are numerous reasons as to why smoothies are the way to go when it comes to getting your nutrients. Smoothies are an easy fix to prep either in the morning or the night before. You can essentially add any ingredient your heart desires. Then you can sneak in those tricky greens without anyone, or yourself, suspecting it,” Kulani said.

He adds that most people he comes across loves something so carefree such as green smoothie recipes. “Just toss those ingredients in, blend them and you have a delicious and nutritious meal. If you know that you will be in a hurry in the morning before work, throw all the ingredients into a blender mug the night before. This way, all you have to do is add whatever liquid is required and blend away,” he added.

He said that healthy smoothies can generally be made with almost all kinds of fruits and vegetables, as long as they can be blended.
