Bono praised for Siya drawing

Bono Siaga has never been interested in anything except art and her fans just love her drawings.

LIMPOPO – Bono’s art speaks volumes, and her latest artwork, of the Springbok rugby captain Siya Kolisi proves she means business.

“Siya Kolisi and his teammates made South Africa proud by winning the Rugby World Cup in Japan. So I decided to honour him with the work of my hands.”

The 24-year-old is a fine artist who was born and bred in a small village called Luheni.

To her, drawing means expressing feelings she is not able to express.

“Drawing is more like breathing to me. I can’t live without it. I use colour pencils and acrylic paint,” she said.

After completing her studies, she struggled to find an internship opportunity to obtain a diploma in business management.

She then embarked on a journey of self-discovery and it is here where she discovered her love for art.

“I am inspired by life and the beauty of faces. That is why I specialises in portraits. Capturing the emotions with pencil on paper is what I enjoy most,” she said.

She draws inspiration from another artist, Avhashoni Mainganye.

“I was motivated to continue with my drawings after meeting him as he exposed me to the world of art,” she said.

Bono attended Miriyavhavha Technical High School and then moved to Thengwe High School where she matriculated in 2014.

She aspires to own her own art gallery and school for art.

Those interested in her drawings can phone her on 072 474 3774.
