Energy FM, Rotary take hands to bring relief to empowerment centre

The Pulse of the City, Energy FM together with the Rotary Club Polokwane donated food parcels to the Seshego Victim Empowerment Centre.

POLOKWANE – This donation took place on Thursday, 5 December and Dorcas Pitjeng said this was a relief for the centre as most of the people they help cannot afford to buy food.

“We are the community response centre for people who are affected by crime and trauma.

“The main initiative of the centre is to assist victims of crime to find hope, strength and resilience in the face of grief and trauma, as well as provide an opportunity of accessing services and resources available to them. We thank Energy FM and Rotary Club Polokwane for their generous support,” said Pitjeng.

Energy FM Chairman, Simphiwe Mdlalose said the centre is one of Energy FM’s beneficiaries.

“Whenever they have a need it becomes part of our responsibility to ensure that we respond to their call.

“Rotary Polokwane makes sure that the donation becomes possible. We have a great relationship with the centre,” said Mdlalose.

Rotary Club Polokwane Director of community service, Charles Hardy said this is part of their way to help the community.

“We received the request from Energy FM that the centre is in need of assistance and we decided to help were we can. The festive season is a season of giving and we encourage every person to give wholeheartedly. Victims need to be taken care of.

“Where there is a need, we make sure that as the Rotary Club Polokwane, we deliver whatever we have.

“We have seen that there are people outside who also need our help. We wanted to show compassion to them,” said Hardy.
