Limpopo Premier vows to fulfil Precious’ dream

The one thing Precious Ramabulana wanted to achieve, was to change her family's lives for the better.

LIMPOPO – Precious Ramabulana had hopes of building a home for her mother but this was not to realise, as a man cut short her life after stabbing her 52 times at her student accommodation in Mokomene two weeks ago.

This urged the Premier, Chupu Stanley Mathabatha, to intervene in a humanitarian way, on behalf of government.

During Ramabulana’s funeral held at Tshikuwi Primary School last week, he pledged to build a house for Ramabulana’s family to ensure they receive the necessary support.

“We have been saddened by her death and we will not tolerate these acts.”

He said they would help realise her dream: “She brought light to so many people’s lives.We want to fulfil her dream and bring a better life to her family.”

It has also surfaced that Ramabulana even sacrificed her study grants just to support her family, and she was described by some as her family’s only breadwinner. Mathabatha asked Vhembe Mayor, Dowelani Nenguda and Makhado Mayor, Samuel Munyai to employ one of Ramabulana’s family members: “We don’t want the family to be left in poverty,” he said.

• In the meantime, the 28-year-old Aubrey Manaka appeared in the Molemole Magistrate’s Court on Monday. He stands accused of raping and murdering Ramabulana, and the case was postponed to the end of January.
