Limpopo rugby fans angered over exclusion from World Cup victory parade
Many fans have taken to Twitter to express their anger, asking why Limpopo and other provinces were left out from the schedule
POLOKWANE – “What did Limpopo people do to deserve not to see the RWC trophy? We were also part of fans. At least take it to Polokwane then we will be fine. We are also SA citizens.” This is one of many tweets by Limpopo rugby fans expressing their disappointment in not being included in the Springboks Champions Tour.

The Springboks, who were crowned World Champions after beating England by 32 points to 12 in the Rugby World Cup final on Saturday, are expected to kick off their Champions Tour in Gauteng on Thursday, 7 November with the parade including stops in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Soweto, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and East London.
“Sidelined like usual. The unfortunate part is Limpopo residents are arguably amongst the most loyal and passionate of supporters in the country. Be it sports, politics and otherwise! Mzansi mara, mzansi mara,” Twitter user, Mpyana Chuene Khutsisho wrote.
Other Twitter users took to the platform to ask why provinces such as Limpopo, North West, Mpumalanga and the Free State are usually left out of big events such as these.
It means we are not part of this nation for example Trevor nyakane his from Limpopo and we are proud of him but we denied to see the world trophy and the boys….Mxm this nation mara and it means we are not important.

On Friday, the Limpopo Department of Sports, Arts and Culture led a motorcade through the streets of Polokwane in support of the boks and managed to secure venues across all five districts in the province for fans to watch the final.
