Koketso is in the business of capturing smiles

The 20-year-old self-taught photographer says he fell in love with taking photos during his childhood and has loved photography ever since

POLOKWANE – Life behind the camera is what completes Koketso Thulare’s life.

The 20-year-old self-taught photographer from Mahwelereng in Mokopane outside Polokwane is passionate about taking photos.

Koketso told CV that he fell in love with taking photos during his childhood and has loved photography ever since.

“My inspiration came from the love I had for taking pictures and making people smile,” said Koketso.

He said his love for the camera continued to grow and that is why he decided to start King2large photography.

“The smiles I manage to put on people’s faces when photographing them, drives my business,” he said.

He said his love for the camera was more developed by the recently introduced self-picture taking called selfie.

“I went with the flow of taking pictures of myself and only then realised my love and passion for taking pictures. Taking pictures was part of my hobbies, but I later realised that I can generate an income through it,” he said.

Koketso shared that he started to get people’s attention through his enthusiasm and work ethic.

“I saw it as an opportunity to market myself at events, individual photo shoots, family shoots, modelling profiles, weddings and parties,” said Koketso.

He added that he does not have a preference for capturing photos and that he always tries his best to bring the best out of the photos he takes.

“I capture all kinds of pictures at any angle, whatever my clients look for. I make sure that my pictures tell a story and that they can relate with people. I also ensure that I gratify every client I work with to keep my business going.

Koketso shared some advice. “It is crucial that people understand that photography is not just about capturing pictures and making money, but that it also serves as a way to keep strong meaningful memories for every individual,” he said.
