Review visited Martha Hofmeyr to ask the residents what lessons they teach their grandchildren

POLOKWANE – It’s the month of October and throughout the month local schools celebrated grandparents day. Review visited Martha Hofmeyr to ask the residents what they can remember about their parents and grandparents and the special bond between grandchildren and grandparents. We also wanted to know what lessons they teach their grandchildren.

Tannie Hettie Illingworth: “The truth will set you free is an important lesson that I have learnt and will continue to teach others.”

Tannie Magdalena Fuchs: “Parents must be strict but fair, they must be able to listen but also know when their children are in the wrong.”

Tannie Ellie van Rooyen: “Having respect for older people is an important lesson I learned from my parents and grandparents and also teach my grandchildren.”
