Top swimmers battle it out for spot on Lim team

Limpopo Aquatics hosted the Top 10 High Schools Swimming Gala at the Polokwane Municipal swimming pool on Tuesday. Limpopo Aquatics hosted the Top 10 High Schools Swimming Gala at the Polokwane Municipal swimming pool on Tuesday.
The gala saw top swimmers from Stanford Lake College, Hoërskool Eric Louw, Hoërskool Merensky, Hoërskool Warmbad, Hoërskool Ben Viljoen, Hoërskool Piet Potgieter, Hoërskool Ben Vorster, Hoërskool Ellisras, Hoërskool Pietersburg and Hoërskool Frans du Toit battling it out for a spot on the provincial swimming team. The team is expected to be announced next week.
Participants exchanged paces in breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle events.
Vice President of Limpopo Aquatics, Rob Anderson said they were selecting a provincial team that will represent the province at the South African swimming championships set for Gauteng next month. “We are looking for 45 swimmers to represent Limpopo, we were happy with what we saw and I think we will come out with a strong competitive team,” Anderson concluded.
