Imasa hosts workshop on municipal legal framework

The Limpopo branch of the Institute for Municipal Administration of South Africa (Imasa) hosted a one-day workshop on the municipal legal framework at the APD Hall in the city on Friday.
Officials from various municipalities in Limpopo attended the event with local government specialist Jurie Vorster as presenter. Vorster has more than 40 years’ experience in local government and shared his wealth of knowledge regarding the Constitution, the Structures and Systems acts as well as the Municipal Finance Management Act with the delegates.
He also took the opportunity to educate delegates on the practical implications of the Promotion of Access to Information Act and relevant case law, among others.
Chairperson of the branch, Reply Mkhwanazi, said the insight gained at the interactive engagement was most valuable and that it was Imasa Limpopo’s aim to present at least one workshop every year.
