Regular breast examination is best for early detection

POLOKWANE – When a lady finds out that she has breast cancer, it tends to be even more emotional than other types of cancer. Your breasts, according to the norm, is what makes you a lady. Petro Grobler, oncology sister, explains that femininity does not lay in your breast but rather, “..in how you dance through life with your partner”.

To examine your breasts regularly is the best way to detect breast cancer early on.

Signs of breast cancer:

• Lumps or a lump in your breast.

• Abnormal secretion from your nipples, for example, blood.

• Pain.

• Swelling of the underarm.

• Peeling, scaling or flaking on your breasts.

• Visible abnormal size difference.
