Working on Fire gets a special ‘thank you’

Shoprite in Market Street decided to give back to the hard-working firefighters of Working on Fire (WOF) by donating lunch.

Sello Kobe (WOF Ground Operations Manager) with Phanuel Nkuna (WOF Assistant General Manager), Koos Hatting (Shoprite), Dorothy Nkoana (Shoprite), Olive Leshabane (Shoprite), Tshepo Malatji (WOF General Manager) and Danny Mafumo (WOF Training Officer).

POLOKWANE – WOF Soekmekaar firefighters were dispatched on Monday, 7 October 2019 to the Voorspoed plantation under the Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) to suppress a raging fire that was destroying the plantation.

Today (Wednesday, 9 October), Shoprite handed over much needed energy supplies to WOF. These supplies included pies, chocolates and Powerade to keep them from experiencing dehydration in the extreme conditions.

Dorothy Nkoana, Back Admin Manager at Shoprite thanked the firefighters for their effort, while Tsepo Malatji, WOF Limpopo General Manager expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the unexpected, but welcomed gesture.
