[WATCH] EFF Student Command wins landslide UL SRC elections

Elections were held at the University of Limpopo (UL) on Tuesday, 8 October 2019 and a total of 9 849 votes were cast, of which 66 were spoilt.

POLOKWANE – The EFF Student Command (EFFSC) for Limpopo have won the University of Limpopo’s (UL) 2019/2020 Students Representative Council (SRC) elections.

Elections were held on Tuesday, 8 October 2019 and a total of 9 849 votes were cast, of which 66 were spoilt. The EFFSC received 5 485 votes while the South African Students Congress (Sasco) received 2 412 votes.

The EFF’s Limpopo Provincial Chairperson, Jossey Buthane, took to social media earlier today to congratulate the students, saying the party were humbled by the support. “University of Limpopo remains the home of the EFFSC,” he wrote.

Their win will secure the EFF 11 seats, while Sasco will have 5 and the Student Union for Christian Action (Suca), one seat.
