They left the country last Tuesday evening and are expected to be on a five-day tour. Since their exit from the world’s biggest talent show, the group has been the talk of music lovers across the globe. They were welcomed home by the MEC for arts and culture, Thandi Moraka, who awarded them with a R1 million cheque at the Ndlovu Care Centre in Elandsdoorn outside Groblersdal.

Adding to their overwhelming performances on America’s greatest show, the group also added their signature to Simon Cowell’s record label, Syco Entertainment, which is a joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment Africa.

Ralf Schmitt, choir conductor, said they were excited and honoured to work with Cowell, Syco Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment Africa. He said the youngsters represented the talent of millions of young South Africans and that the nation is bursting with talent.

Dr Hugo Templeman, Ndlovu Care Group founder, said the members of the choir embraced the opportunity with their entire beings and remained humble throughout the journey – something we could all learn from.

“They have embodied the vision we stand for and are a beacon of hope for children around the world,” said Templeman.

The choir aims to ensure that a child from a disadvantaged community can enjoy the same level of musical tuition, care and opportunities as a child from a more affluent society.

The choir creates a place of comfort and care-nurturing values such as self-discipline, self-confidence, tolerance, respect and leadership, according to Templeman.
