Patel wife’s murder case to resume in December
Rameez Patel who stands accused of the murder of his wife Fatima in 2015, will only stand trial in December.
POLOKWANE – Double murder accused, Patel appeared in the Polokwane High Court this morning, and his trial was postponed to 10-13 December. This, after Judge Joseph Raulinga in July dismissed Patel’s application to discharge him on the charge of his wife’s murder.
In November Razeen, brother of the accused, testified in court that Rameez confessed to him that he had killed Fatima.

Patel also stands accused on the murder of his mother, Mahjabeen, and will stand trial in the Polokwane High Court on 24 March 2020.
Rameez’s mother Mehjabeen Patel (51) was shot and wounded on 19 September 2017. She was rushed to hospital and succumbed to her injuries a few hours later. She was shot and killed a year after Rameez’s father was also shot and killed in Platinum Street.
