In the wake of the recent reported xenophobic attacks and gender-based violence in the country, learners at PEPPS Preparatory School and College embarked on a demonstration outside the school premises last Tuesday to condemn acts of violence.
PEPPS communication and marketing officer Millisa Naidoo indicated that the protest action was about the general violation of human dignity. The junior leaders were responsible for coordinating the campaign, she explained and added that learners were asked to wear all-black in support of the victims of xenophobic attacks and gender-based violence. According to Naidoo, learners lined-up against the school fence along the R71 road in a demonstration that lasted for half an hour, holding placards with messages condemning violence.
