UPDATE: Six people confirmed dead in N1 south head-on collision

Among the deceased is a 13-year-old girl.

LIMPOPO – Six people, including a 13-year-old girl died after two vehicles collided head-on on the N1 south near Sasol Zebediela at around 15:00 on Tuesday.

In a statement, Police Spokesperson, Const Maphure Manamela says the incident happened a few kilometers north of Nyl Plaza, when a white utility van with four occupants, travelling in a northerly direction, collided head-on with a sedan with four occupants.

Two passengers and the driver from the van, and two passengers,  including a 13-year-old girl from the sedan died instantly. The driver of the sedan died later in hospital.

The only two survivors, including a six-year-old child are still  recuperating in hospital.

The Police in Mokopane have opened a case of culpable homicide and investigations still continue.


Four dead in N1 south head-on collision

LIMPOPO – Four people died and four people were injured after a two vehicles collided on the N1 south near near Sasol Zebediela on Tuesday afternoon.

A Opel Corsa LMV and a Mazda sedan collided head-on, after one of the vehicles lost control due to a burst tyre, reports Traffic Policing Affairs Limpopo.

Four people died, three occupants from the Corsa, one being the driver, and one occupant from the Mazda. The driver and one occupant from the Mazda sustained very serious injuries and two other occupants sustained sustained serious injuries, they concluded.

[TRAFFIC ALERT] N1 south near Sasol Zebediela closed

LIMPOPO –  The N1 south is likely to be closed for about two hours after two vehicles collided head-on near the Sasol Zebediela filling station.

Emergency vehicles are on the scene and motorists are urged to be patient.
