A quick ‘ChitChat’ with mastermind behind soon to be launched social networking site

ChitChat will soon rival against world loved social network platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, says Collen Chauke from Malamulele

LIMPOPO – Chauke, a University of Venda graduate and a political activist, said that he wants internet users in African countries to be able to reach out and interact with each other, as well as share ideas with people in other countries.

According to Chauke, the site will be easy to use and safety features are taken very seriously. “The site has new and exciting features and will enable users to interact globally,” Chauke said.

ChitChat will expand the social networking standard among users, he said.

“This is a social networking service where users can post comments, share photographs and links to news or other interesting content on the web. They can chat live and even stream live video. Our social network supports interactive online chat and the ability to comment on your friend’s profile, in order to keep in touch and share information. What makes our site unique, is the ability to connect and share with the people you care about at the same time as well as our ability to provide secure messaging, where no one is able to tamper with your privacy,” he stated.

Chauke shared that there are several key networking components within each member’s profile. “The most popular is arguably the wall, which is essentially a virtual bulletin board. Messages left on a member’s wall can be text, video or photos. It also uses less data as compared to what is on the market today.”

Chauke, who is a Fourth Industrial Revolution aficionado, said this is a great opportunity for citizens to start embracing local sites and use them to build up contacts globally.

“People will not be restricted by geography, gender, sexual orientation, race or religion. This will allow them to connect with people that would usually be physically, culturally or socially out of their reach and connect because of who they truly are, behind the labels we lump onto them,” he said.

“We will conduct public participation, so that everyone can be involved. Platforms like Apolitical connects public servants from different nations to each other, to the private sector and to us, so that we can decide what works, what is important and what is best for us.”

The launch will take place on 6 October in Midrand.
