POLOKWANE – Nina William Mokwatlo (37) and Ben Maraba (38) kidnapped the deceased, raped and killed her before they dumped her body in the bushes at Ga-Mashashane under the Seshego Cluster outside Polokwane, said POlice Spokesperaon, Col Moatshe Ngoepe in a statement on Saturday.
Bamboo, from Kalspruit Village in Ga-Mashashane, was reported missing on 4 October 2013, after she failed to return from a friend’s ceremony preparations. A search was launched and the decomposed body of the deceased was discovered seven days later.
Investigations revealed Bambo was wallking home the night, when the accused stopped her and forced her inside their vehicle. They then drove to nearby bushes and took turns raping her, before they killed her, Ngoepe added.
Cases of kidnapping, rape and murder were opened and assigned to Detective Warrant Officer Matsobane Galane, who worked tirelessly until the duo were arrested a few weeks later. They were positively linked to the incident and Galane investigated the matter and ensured the two faced the full might of the law.
The duo were each sentenced to two life terms for murder and rape and and extra five years for kidnapping.
