Northern Academy Primary School was ablaze with colour when learners came to school dressed in different cultural outfits representing different ethnic groups in the country to commemorate Heritage Day on Saturday.
The day saw learners together with their parents participating in dances, poems, songs, plays and indigenous games such as diketo, dibeke, kgati and morabaraba.
Marketer at Northern Academy, Margaret Lekganyane said the purpose of the celebration was to make learners aware of the different cultures within the school and some of the indigenous games. “It was a good event and we are delighted that so many parents supported the event and enjoyed some of the festivities with us,” Lekganyane said.
