#WFD – Smoky Bacon Pasta with Chicken and Butternut

Transfer into a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs and grated cheese and grill for 4 min.

POLOKWANE – Even though this recipe includes bacon as one of the ingredients, it can be left out if you do not eat bacon.

You can also substitute the Mince Mate with a similar flavour.

The recipe also doesn’t call for any specific type of pasta so you can use what you have or what you prefer.

Ingredients

  1. 300g chicken, cubed
  2. 200g bacon, diced
  3. 400g butternut, cut into small cubes
  4. 15ml oil
  5. 230g KNORR Mince Mate Smoky Bacon and Cheddar Flavour
  6. 800ml hot water
  7. 150ml breadcrumbs
  8. 150ml cheese, grated

Method

  1. In a large frying pan, fry the chicken, bacon and butternut in oil for about 4 min or until the butternut starts to feel soft.
  2. Add the sachet of seasoning mix, 800 ml hot water, and the uncooked pasta and bring to the boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Transfer into a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs and grated cheese and grill for 4 min.
