Four men arrested in Seshego for gang rape and armed robbery

A panga and a butcher knife that were used during the attack were confiscated during the arrest.

POLOKWANE – Four men are expected to appear before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court, following their arrest for rape and robbery last week.

Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe reports that the men, armed with knives and a panga, attacked a couple at their home in Seshego.

“They then gang-raped the 24-year-old female and robbed the couple of their belongings before fleeing the scene on foot,” he said.

All four men, between the ages of 21 and 32 were arrested during a joint intelligence-led operation and the following items were recovered:

A cellphone
A microwave
A DVD player
One speaker and a subwoofer
Clothing and shoes
A panga
A butcher knife.

Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Jim Ledwaba has commended all members involved in the operations on a job well done.
